Soona Jungle Raat Andheri Chaayi Badli Kaali Hai
Sone Wale Jaagte Rahiyo Choron ki Rakhwali Hai
Ankh Se Kajal Saaf Chura Lain Yan Woh Chor Bala Ke Hai
Teri Takri Takee Hai Aur Tu Ne Neend Nikali Hai
Yeh Jo Tujh ko Bulata Hai Yeh Thag Hai Maar Hi Rakhe Ga
Hye Musafir Dam Main na Ana Mat Kaisi Matwali hai
Sona Paas hai Soona Ban Hai Sona Zehar Hai Uth Pyaare
Tu Kehta Hai Meethi Neend Hai Teri Mat hi Nirali Hai
Ankhne Mal na Jhunjna Par Na Lakh Jamahi Angrayi
Array Nam Pe Uthne ke Larta Hai Uthna Bhi kuch Gaali Hai
Jugnoo Chamke Patta Kharke Mujh Tanha Ka Dil Dharke
Dar Samjhaye Koi Pavan Hai Ya Agiya be Taali Hai
Badal Garge Bijli Tarke Dhak se Kaleja Ho Jaaye
Ban Main Ghata Ki Bhayanak Soorat Kaisi Kaali Kaali Hai
Paaon Utha Aur Thaukar Khaayi Kuch Sambhla Phir Aondhe Mon
Neend ne Phislan Kar Di Hai Aur Dhortak Khaayi Naali Hai
Saathi Saathi Keh ke Pukaron Saathi Ho Tu Jawab Aaye
Phir Jhunjla Kar Sir De Patko Chal Re Mola Wali Hai
Tum To Chand Arab ke ho Pyare Tum To Ajam Ke Sooraj Ho
Dekho Mujh Bekas Par Sab ne Kaisi Afat Daali Hai
Shehed Dikhaye Zehar Pilaye Kaatil Daen Shohar Kush
Iss Murdar Pe Kiya Lalchaya Dunya Dekhi Bhaali Hai
Woh tu Nihayat Sasta Soda Baich Rahe Hain Jannat Ka
Hum Muflis Kiya Moal Chukayen Apna Haath Hi Khaali Hai
Mola Tere Afw-o-Karam Ho Mere Gawah Safayi Ke
Warna Raza se Chor pe Teri Digree Tu Iqbali Hai
Sone Wale Jaagte Rahiyo Choron ki Rakhwali Hai
Ankh Se Kajal Saaf Chura Lain Yan Woh Chor Bala Ke Hai

Haq hai
Alhamdolilah, this is yet another beautiful naath Sharief by our beloved Hassaan-ul- hind Ala Hazrath Radiallahu Anhu.
I remember the tafseer of this naath that was rendered by Hazrath Mahmood Jaan’s son (Rahmatulah Alaihi) many many years ago. It is a means of hope and a warning for Sunnis all over the world of the many thieves loitering and lurking in this dunya trying to steal our imaan away.
The verse “Aaye musafair dham meh na’aana” refers not to the wayfarer/ traveller but the ‘newcomers’ (badmahzabs) who are constantly bringing new concepts into our deen and even call themselves ‘sunni’. Concepts like uniting with the 72 jahanami mazhabs (tahiris), or like the najdis try to prevent us from visiting the Rauza Mubarak of our Aaqa Sallalahu Alahi Wabaarik Wasalam, or the deobandis who try to prevent us visiting Mazars of Allah’s Awliyah (Radwanaan ul lahi Ajma’een) etc.
May Allah bless our naath kawaans and may we always read these naaths over and over and pray that Almighty Allah raise us in the beautiful mehfil of Hazrath Hassaan-ibn- Thabit (Radiallahu Anhu) on the day of mehshar Insha’Allah.
Ameen.
